What matters in Cross Body 360
Cross Body 360 builds on a linear passing action: the Follow continues traveling through the opened lane while the Lead reorganizes the shared space.
Unlike a simple Cross Body Lead, the shared orientation continues through a substantially larger circular rotation.
The Follow is not placed on a fixed turning point. Steps and pathway remain part of the action while the couple orientation continues rotating.
The Lead manages personal position so the larger rotation retains a clear center and sufficient space. Connection should not become a means of dragging the Follow around.
The 360 structure is complete when the larger circular rotation resolves into a stable new couple orientation with a clearly usable linear continuation.
04 · Body knowledge
Body organization in Cross Body 360
In a Cross Body 360, the follow remains in a traveling passage while the shared orientation changes through a larger circular rotation.
The lead changes personal position so the follow still has room to walk and turn. The follow is not pulled around a stationary lead.
Distance remains organized so both dancers retain personal balance while sharing the same circular spatial idea.
05 · For beginners
Build Cross Body 360 clearly first
Practice a stable Cross Body Lead first and then add only the larger shared reorientation.
Let the follow continue walking while the lead organizes a personal pathway around the shared center.
Does the follow remain genuinely traveling during the larger rotation, or does the figure become a stationary arm-driven turn?
06 · Teaching and feedback
What to observe in a controlled Cross Body 360
The larger rotation does not interrupt the follow's traveling footwork.
Lead position creates space for the circular pathway rather than narrowing the passage.
Both dancers retain personal balance without using one another as rotational support.

From Cross Body 360 to related movements
The lead opens the pathway and guides the follow through the slot to the opposite side; both finish reoriented toward one another.
A cross-body structure using the opposite opening or passing direction from the common basic form.
A cross body lead in which the follow performs an inside rotation while traveling and then returns to the shared line.
A cross body lead with an outward follower turn during the pass, maintaining the linear travel pathway.
Linear figure that redirects or checks the follow's forward travel before returning them to the pathway.
A brief release or redirection of hand connection used to prepare a new hand position without throwing or pulling the partner.
Partner passage in which the follow walks through an opened pathway and the connection is then reorganized.
A turn whose rotation is briefly checked or redirected through clear lead information before continuing or resolving.
A copa structure resolved into an inward follower turn.
