What matters in Inside Turn
In an Inside Turn, the Follow rotates toward the inside of the shared linear pathway. In a cross-body organization this typically means turning toward the Lead.
The linear passage remains present. The Follow receives sufficient space to travel first, with turn information layered into that pathway rather than replacing it sideways.
The turn is prepared early enough for direction and hand pathway to be readable before the main rotational action.
The Follow organizes steps, weight changes, and axis independently. Connection accompanies the turn rather than pulling the dancer around the axis.
The turn finishes with controlled balance and a clear new couple orientation. Exact rotation amount can vary with entry and variation.

In the linear organization described here, the follow turns toward the inside of the passage while continuing through the pathway.
Turning information is prepared early enough that the follow is not unexpectedly redirected after travel has already begun.

What to observe in a controlled Inside Turn
The rotational pathway matches the announced inside direction of the linear passage.
The turn does not become a stationary spot turn when the figure requires a traveling pass.
The hand pathway accompanies the turn without lifting the shoulder or pulling the follow through the rotation by the hand.
